Deep Fried Goldfish

What are these goldfish doing at the bottom of this deep fat fryer? And how the heck did did they get there? and is that water, by the way? Apparently, some guy spent 10 years designing this unusual deep fat fryer. How those little fish stays alive in there is beyond me! Why he invented the thing in the first place is beyond me.
